Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism has been collecting the 3% Municipal & Regional District Tax (MRDT) since May 2018. The process to renew MRDT collection happens every 5 years. Submission deadline for our first application renewal is August 1, 2022.

We understand that without the past two years ~ and often more due to the Wildfires and Flooding ~ income, and the chance to conduct your businesses as usual, that you still face incredible blockades. The Tourism Resiliency Program has been a funded program. Please reach out to us and share your success stories, your ongoing challenges, and any information that you would like to share about this program – good or bad.
The Advisors have come to know you on a personal level, know your challenges and have directed businesses to the resources and information that would fit your individual needs and circumstances. We are still working with businesses on the grants and loans currently available. Please reach out if you need assistance.

Happy Holidays from the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Marketing Team
While uncertainty still lays ahead, our marketing team remains energized to continue supporting your businesses throughout whatever the future holds. In 2021, we were able to react quickly to what industry required under the conditions of increased restrictions and natural weather events.
We were also able to achieve some major wins for our region. Highlights including:
- A collaborative campaign with the History Channel for the filming of Alone – Season 8. Garnering over 16.9 MILLION impressions and 88,000+ sessions to LandWithoutLimits.com!
- Capturing the heart of our region with 21 interviews for our Full of Heart campaign, amassing over 885,000+ video views.
- Promoting responsible travel to our domestic markets, publishing 3 stories on how to respect wildlife, communities, culture and prioritize personal safety when travelling within our region.

In response to access disruptions to our region for our southern markets, we have updated and optimized our ‘Getting Here & Around’ page. The page contains traveller information on alternative means of transportation to our region via inter-city bus service from Surrey to Prince George through Adventure Charters, direct airline service through Pacific Coastal and Central Mountain Air, vehicle rentals, ferry service through BC Ferries, and more.
In addition, we have published our guide to Winter Responsible Travel to the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast and a Holiday Gift Guide to support e-commerce enabled businesses.
