I know that many of you are going full out right now that it’s summer, and we welcome the travelling public. This month I have some quick updates for you on the CCCTA team, funding programs available to you, and some HR tips on hiring.

Hope you can find some time to check out this information — and apply for any of the programs that fit your needs. Have a great start to summer!

Funding Support Available

Consumer Show Funding

The MRDT our accommodators collect plays a key role in strengthening our local tourism marketing. One way the CCCTMA makes this happen is by using the funds collected to help businesses attend consumer shows by helping cover the cost of attendance. Consumer shows are a great opportunity to both promote tourism products and network with other operators. By completing both the application and reporting forms, businesses can have up to 50% of their event fee covered (less GST).

The application deadline for Consumer Shows is July 31, 2023, OR until the budget is committed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Market Project Funding

CCCTMA Marketing Project Funding is designed to promote awareness, consideration, and conversion for our business through tourism marketing, programs, and projects. Its main objective is to increase local tourism revenue, economic benefits, and visitation.

Please complete and submit the linked form prior to the deadline before July 31, 2023, OR until the budget is committed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Help Inform Tourism Marketing for CCCT

Nominations Open for Marketing Committee

The land without limits is so great it can almost sell itself — almost! The Marketing Committee of the CCCT Marketing Association plays a key role in making sure the world finds out about everything we have to offer across the region.

The Committee provides advice, support and recommendations to the Board, CEO, and staff on marketing strategies, tourism performance metrics, and cost-sharing formulas. It’s a key part of the Marketing Associations’ work to coordinate tourism marketing at the international, provincial, regional, and local levels.

Nomination Forms need to be sent to marketing@landwithoutlimits.com by August 14 at 11:59 pm.

You can download the nomination form and various documents at the links below:

Judith Call Takes On Accessibility File

Judith Call CCCTA’s new Accessibility Manager

Destination and Experience Manager Judith Call is moving from part time to full time and taking on additional responsibilities as CCCTA’s new Accessibility Manager. She’ll be dedicating half her time to each role.

She brings years of experience in the social determinates of health from her work in indigenous health, senior administration with First Nations, recreation coordination in intermediate and extended care, and music therapy.

She’s driven by her love of getting outside and being active, eating healthy, and staying aware and open to all cultures. For her, the best part about working in tourism is meeting new people, learning what inspires them, and then helping to find ways to share what they have to offer with potential visitors. We are excited to welcome Judith’s leadership to the accessibility file!

Have Your Say on Grizzly Bear Stewardship

The Province of B.C. is asking people to share their opinions on grizzly bear stewardship and commercial bear viewing by proving feedback on the draft Grizzly Bear Stewardship Framework and the Commercial Bear Viewing Strategy

The Grizzly Bear Stewardship Framework aims to strengthen stewardship of bears and their habitat and ensuring they continue to be an integral part of healthy ecosystems.

The Commercial Bear Viewing Strategy includes guidance for viewing in a way that reduces viewer’s influence on bears and the development of area-based viewing plans to ensure a healthy and sustainable wildlife tourism industry in B.C.

Surveys are available online until Aug 18:
