Rodrigo is a senior brand and marketing leader with over ten years of expertise across a broad range experience-oriented industry. Rodrigo brings his global experience to the Director of Marketing role where he will be responsible for working with the local industry to lead CCCT’s efforts to share the region’s tourism stories far and wide. Rodrigo has been helping brands like Layfield Group in the manufacturing sector, ElectraMeccanica in the automotive sector, with Fossil, Diageo, and Brown-Forman in the fast-moving consumer packaged goods segment and Miolo Wine Group in the liquor business. Frank’s extensive experience includes running C4 Strategies supporting companies with executive expertise to further develop their capacity, value and impact, as well as time as CEO of Fort McMurray Tourism, Managing Director of Travel Alberta North, and marketing roles for Korea Tourism in Canada. Frank Creasey brings decades of experience in the tourism sector and business leadership to the new Experience & Commercial Officer, leading efforts to help local tourism businesses grow and enhance our destination development efforts. This includes leading the recently announced team of destination experience managers who will be on the ground working with tourism operators where they are located. New Funding Announced
New “Growing Communities Fund” for Local Governments
The Growing Communities Fund will provide a one-time total of $1 billion in grants to all 188 of BC’s municipalities and regional districts, which they can use to address their community’s unique infrastructure and amenities demands – such as recreation facilities, parks and water-treatment plants, as well as other community infrastructure. It will help communities prepare for future growth and build the amenities needed to support new home construction, especially with the Housing Supply Act where targets are set.
These grants will complement existing infrastructure funding (such as sewer, water and recreation facilities) and will be distributed by the end of March 2023. The Growing Communities Fund will come from the surplus shown in the Second Quarter Financial Report.

BC Fairs Festivals and Events
Eligible organizations are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible as funds are limited and applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis. The BCFFE will be administered through a time-limited application process. Applications will be accepted from February 16, 2023 until March 3, 2023 11:59pm for events occurring between April 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024.

Holiday to Honour Survivors, Their Families and communities
September 30 – National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
Now a BC Stat Holiday
.Labour Minister Harry Bains introduced the bill in the legislature earlier this week, saying the holiday will be observed this year and every September 30th afterward to honour the strength and resilience of residential school survivors and remember the children who never came home.
