Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Joins Global Group To Drive Tourism Innovation
The Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism region is one of 10 founding organizations from across the globe banding together to find ways to drive innovation in tourism to navigate growth in the sector in a way that is sustainable.
Together, under the umbrella of Destination Think we will be working on shared challenges and solutions that includes:
- Attracting visitors who support local values,
- Preserving the things that draw visitors for future generations,
- Helping the community be heard and find the benefits and positivity from tourism,
- Navigating emerging situations that may be disruptors or risks to tourism,
- Providing ideas to the tourism industry to reduce operating costs,
- Addressing housing and social equity concerns, and
- Reducing the environmental impact of travel-related activities.
The 10 founding partners along with the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast are
- Banff Lake Louise Tourism,
- Destination Queenstown,
- Mammoth Lakes Tourism,
- Noosa Shire,
- Tourism Tofino,
- Travel Marquette,
- Visit Bend,
- Visit Grand Junction, and
- Wonderful Copenhagen.
All of this will build on the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association commitment to Biosphere Certification and continuous improvements to sustainability in tourism.
