To commemorate World Earth Day, on April 22nd, 2021, the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association (CCCTA) formally committed to a new path forward to support future planning and a more sustainable visitor economy as we work to rebuild the post-COVID-19 tourism economy. Signing of the Biosphere Letter of Commitment solidifies a long-term commitment to achieving the internationally recognised Responsible Tourism Institute’s Biosphere Certification.

On March 16th , 2022 Cariboo Chilcotin Coast was officially certified as a  “Biosphere Certified Destination” .

View Our Sustainability Charter Action Plan

The Sustainability Charter sets Cariboo Chilcotin Coast on a path to improve the region’s sustainability performance in direct alignment with the vision and goals set out by the Chilcotin Central Coast, Gold Rush Trail, and Interlakes Destination Development Strategies,as well as goals for sustainable tourism at the local, provincial, national, and international levels.
