We recognize the significant strain that COVID-19 has placed on people and has created many challenges due to isolation, financial and employment uncertainty and disruptions to daily life. Here are some mental health resources and programs to support you through this difficult time:
- Wellness Together Canada: The federal government launched a new portal to support Canadians’ mental health. The portal provides free online resources, tools, apps and connections to trained volunteers and qualified mental health professionals when needed.
- AnxietyBC: Struggling with anxiety during this time of uncertainty? Learn and get support from our experts on how you can cope with COVID-19.
- BC Mental Health + Substance Use Services: provide highly specialized treatment for people across British Columbia with severe mental health and substance use/addiction issues
- Bounce Back virtual program: a free, evidence-based program designed to help adults and youth experiencing symptoms of mild to moderate depression, low mood, or stress, with or without anxiety.
- Canadian Mental Health Association BC Division: provides mental health promotion and mental illness recovery-focused programs and services for people of all ages and their families.
- Crisis Line Association of BC: members provide emotional support, crisis and suicide assessment/intervention and resource information to people at the community level.
- Call the 24/7 BC Mental Health Support Line at 310-7689 OR online through the Crisis Centre Chat.
- Mood Disorders Association of BC: provides treatment, support, education, and hope of recovery for people living with a mood disorder.
- The Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Network: A growing global platform for connecting people, networks and organizations, for sharing resources and for building knowledge related to mental health and psychosocial support both in emergency settings and in situations of chronic hardship.
- Red Cross Psychosocial Centre: promotes and enables the psychosocial well-being of beneficiaries, humanitarian staff, and volunteers through psychosocial support, resources and training.
