The CCCTA’s emergency management program is here to support local businesses and build resilience in the region’s tourism sector. We provide several services to help our stakeholders build safe, competitive, and resilient businesses that are capable of facing any challenge. We can offer help with:

Having an Emergency and Communication Plan in place is a responsible and important business practice. We encourage stakeholders to ensure they are prepared and have Emergency processes in place to communicate accurate information to guests and those travelling across the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast.

Wildfire Safety

Wildfires are a seasonal event in many of British Columbia’s ecosystems. Wildfires can refresh the ecosystem and make way for new growth, but can also pose a potential hazard to people and infrastructure. The British Columbia Wildfire Service manages wildfire response throughout the province and provides information on current wildfire events. To know current wildfires, fire danger ratings, and air quality, visit the BC Wildfire Service website.

• Emergency Support Services – Information regarding emergency reception centres and assistance. Support for the displaced, and group lodging.

• AdventureSmart – National prevention program focused on reaching Canadians and visitors to Canada who participate in outdoor recreational activities.
